Really love taking photos of butterflies. Even better is when you get the lazy ones that don't move!
I don't know what butterfly this is. Someone fill me in?

It's an Asian butterfly of the genus Cethosia, probably Cethosia cyane or Cethosia biblis.

I think you're on the right track, but neither of those species match the image. I'll do more digging

Your little isn't very tender of age anymore- as can be seen by the ragged wingtips and some of the colors visible fading off (the scales on the tip of the right way), so getting an exact species down is quite difficult. However, if he was still in the peak of his life, he might have looked something like this.. farm9.staticflickr.com/8369/85… Note the oval markings on the wing tips that are quite smudged in your fella..
