Description Mary, Mary quite contrary,
How does your garden grow?
With silver bells and cockle shells,
And daisies all in a row

Ink w/ PS color

Note: I'm aware that silver bells are, actually, a type of flower. Also, I know those are conches. Are conches cockle shells? I don't know, but I love to draw a good ol' conch.

I am continuously amazed at how quirky and funky your style is; I love this drawing and the Dish and the Spoon one was awesome too.

XD I'm actually not sure what cockle shells are. Well, at least the daisies are right.

I love the sweetness of this

I think cockle shells are those clam-type things, maybe a bit smaller than normal though ;o
I like the conches better for this though, they're more visual I've seen gardens where the shells are basically used as ground cover in their little plots (I'm not sure if it would have been the same in Mary's garden)
Alos, the version of the rhyme that I knew, the last line was 'and pretty girls all in a row'
I assume they are some kind of flower as well, maybe slang for daisies?

Hm...you may be right on the shells. My mother used to grind up shells for our garden (back when I was a little), I think they add minerals to the soil. And there are actually a few versions of this poem, but I liked the daisies. More compact for a small drawing ^^

Awww!

So are you doing pictures of all children's fairytales? If so, what's next?

It's a surprise. Though, yes, I'm trying to beef up my children's book portfolio, and this seemed like a fun project.
