Thanks! It'll be a few chapters before Ash actually gets turned into a Pikachu... I wanna take some time to set the stage first.

Well, that can be tricky, as it can end up taking far more pages to set the stage in a comic.
If you take too long setting the stage then the story can end up dragging a bit.
Keeping that in mind, I'll just say good luck for now

Good point, and Ashachu is what they're all coming to see.. come to think of it, with some planning, I could probably squeeze it down to one chapter before Ashachu's appearance, and establish some characters after the fact.

THE CUTE
I love how I can still tell he's Ashachu, but that his design is NOT strictly following his anime appearance - this sweet, semi-realistic look suits him like a glove

Haha, yeah. I finally decided that Ash looked WEIRD if he had his normal eyes, not to mention it'd be way too easy for Misty to recognize him. He still gets more detail on his eyes than most other Pikachu, and the rest of the "Ashachu" features are still there (save the hat, of course).
Running the story over in my mind, I'm suddenly amazed at how quickly Ash takes to being a Pikachu. His only real problem with it is not being able to talk, and being stuck as Oliver's pet. Ash is too darned carefree XD;
