full view to get all the good details! XDThird entry for =dodger-d 's contest to promote her upcoming comic Anarchy Dreamers! You should seriously go take a look at her comic Koji Takahashi (the prequel to the soon-to-be released Anarchy Dreamers) because awesome art and plot!
I wanted to do another entry because I really felt like I could give my best through a traditional medium, and while researching for character heights, clothing styles and such I grew to love Emily's work even more because of the diversity of her characters and stylistic choices.
Because most of my markers were almost completely dry by the time I got to the background I decided to give it texture with some blending techniques. And because I don't have a blender I went for vodka and Q-tips which sufficed just fine XD
Letraset markers, vodka, white gel pen and Paint Tool SAI.

I have been admiring this picture of yours ever since you posted it like forever ago. I love LOVE the coloring job, it is so bright but all the colors work well together and it isn't overwhelming. And the vodka did a great job, the blending looks amazing and adds really nice texture to the background. (As do the white dots. Darn it, I really like your white dots in the background. Always have. Always will. I need a white pen at some point.) Another thing I like is the way all the characters are holding themselves, and they all have lovely legs. They look nice and casual and I like how they all look like they've been grouped together, not just copy-pasted into the same picture, if that makes sense. (It doesn't really make sense, sorry, but that is the best way I can think to phrase it.) Their proportions look nice, too.
Pretty much this is lovely and I love it.

Ah!! I really really love this picture, they all look so nice!
I'm really impressed with all the details in their clothes and stuff, because I can tell you researched it all. ;_; As well as that background. @_@ I can't ever do those kinds of BGs.
I looked at this last night but I was too tired to comment, so I left it for this morning. I'm glad I did because I noticed so much more today, like Tadhg has Dev's hand and that's just precious. ;_;

thank you, ah I'm so glad you noticed the hand holding XD I didn't wanna make it too obvious and then it occurred to me that it might go unnoticed :> also those backgrounds are not so hard to do! Probably easier with the fine nib of a blender but still easy with vodka and q-tips too hehe XD

Alcohol dillutes the ink of alcohol-based markers like Copics or the Letraset I'm using XD Yes, to keep in mind, definitely neat to cover up mistakes and such! Thank you! <3
