Description
Based on that interesting looking blue and white rings earth flag that was created a while ago (www.flagofplanetearth.com/ )
Context:
-Based heavily on the ideas from the "International flag of Planet Earth" project, using simple colours and shapes to convey strong ideas without necessary cultural information.
Explanation:
-The gray/silver of the dusty lunar surface is behind a combination of the popular crescent shape people associate with the moons shape (based on one of its phases) and the dark side of the moon we rarely see but we now know by means of scientific progress is there.
-I initially made the International earth flag (Not my creation by the way, just using it here) more placed and sized akin to the way that the British flag is on the Austrailian flag, but it looked all wrong and I couldn't find a way to make it work.
Opinion:
-I quite like it, but I worry the audience may think it too simple or dull based on the colours used. Ideally, I would make the gray of a silver somewhat reflective material rather than a flat colour.
Fun fact:
-For the second version of this (This one!) I imagine there would be a lot of kerfuffle over country ownership rights of the moon colony, and a lot of lunar colonists might see themselves as more seperate to earth than an extension of it.
