Shadow is going to lose, he doesn't have a chance to bring-out his Chaos Emerald in a situation like that. It's not a matter of wanting him to win, as much as it IS a matter of observing the situation he's in, and judging the chances of him mannaging to suceed. In this case, Shadow's going to lose unless someone just happens to come and save him.
