Quite a wonerful piece, looks like she comes from the 17th or 18th century by the outfit? Quite suitable that I'd come come across her like this because as I write this I'm listening to some Louis and François Couperin being played on the Harpsichord by Albert Fuller on a Nonesuch Record Label LP from 1972 entitled Louis Couperin François Couperin Pièces de Clavecin. Anyway I love the period details you added to her and I like the flower in the hair detail that you did very classique. And I can't believe you did this in coloured pencil (none of my coloured pencil drawings turn out this good maybe I just push too hard.)

Very nice (I wish draw better vintage clothing but the best I can do right now is modern clothing.) Since you said you like to draw old-fashioned clothing, I might have a style of clothing that might interest you, do a little research on the Church of the Brethren (more specifically 18th and 19th centuries) and you'll see the most interesting clothing style yet, (in a good way, hey I take pride in my ancestory!) Anyways they wore clothing that was rather conservative looking compared to the rest of 18th and 19th century society. Like I said you'll see what I mean when you look them up, but that's just me (you may not find their style of dress all that fascinating like I do.) But It would sure be interesting to see your spin on the "Brethren Look".

Try looking up The German Baptist Brethren (that's what the Church of the Brethren was originally called prior to 1918) Then you might find something. Also try looking up the following people: Alexander Mack Sr., John Kline, Sarah Writer Major, Christopher Saur Sr., Henry Kurtz, George Wolfe Sr., and Samuel Weir, if you happen upon any articles about them on the internet look for pictures to accompany them if there are any they should be period pictures and with that in mind pay close attention to how they're dressed in those pictures if there are any pictures, plus another resource that might help you is a book titled "The Old Brethren: People of Wisdom and Simplicity Speak to Our Time" by James H. Lehman available from www.brethrenpress.com for $18.95 is a wonderfully compiled book that gives a historical account of how the Brethren used to worship and has tons of old pictures that you could use as refrences showing "The Old Brethren Look" that I was describing to you. Hope this helps.
