...the looking glass. Damn DA, cutting of titles so soon. D:Well, anyway, this animation was made to be an entry in the contest "Cute Vs. Scary" at Another Contest Group. ([link] )
I wasn't sure if I wanted to push myself to make this in time, since I found out about the contest kind of late, but then I couldn't shake this idea so I decided to go for it. And I'm glad I did, because I'm pretty happy with the result, and proud of myself for getting it done. Plus, another animation for my portfolio. : )
Story behind the piece:
First, understand this great, scientific quote:
"No, wait, I've got it! I know what's in the box! Oh, I've been as dumb as Fry! It contains a parallel universe! And when you create a parallel universe, it's almost always populated by evil twins!"

Haha...but yeah, that's basically the idea behind this. Since the work had to contain both something cute and something scary, I thought a parallel universe containing evil twins would be a good solution. As you can see, the entrance to the parallel universe is through the mirror, though the mirror only shows it when the inhabitants of this world aren't looking in it. ; )

ah, hahaha, parallel universe huh...? it almost sounds like..."to pay the price for being too innocent and cute" - you just can't get it "right", if you are "too good" there is the parallel universe to balance out xour goodness XD;
now i don't wanna see what would going on in my mirror.. o__o
anyway...you have very good animating skills i have to say... i think you did well with combining the stocks and the drawn parts. it's simple but makes the job and your character just really feels like "too nice and innocent" - something must balance it out! D=
so yeah, your point gets through i guess XD
plus i kind of like it, find it funny how the evil twin just hasd that "normal" satisfied face after biting off the cute-teddy head XD;
it almost feel ike she thinks: "there deed is done, thiongs get normal again" 8D
