Description About 9 x 11 cm I think.
Black ink using rapidograph pen

This took a while because I had so much other work on! It's not finished (other objects to be added) but I was getting restless so decided to get to this stage and then put it on the shelf for a bit. Ultimately it's a picture about my frustration with working life, specifically how slavish and mechanical modern day work is.

I had to do some reworks on the computer with the cogs because they looked scruffy on the original.

The rose is from a photograph by ~tinderstock , (thanks to *tsheva for letting me know).

A most excellent image, Lindsey!

I love the vertical formats that you use for your compositions. What really strikes me about this particular picuture is the contrast between the clockwork and the figure. Besides the value range, I like the mechanical against the organic and how you have meshed the two. The hummingbird and butterfly are great points of interest, and help to break up the symmetry.

You mentioned that it isn't finished. What will you include? My guess will be that you are going (if you haven't already finished it) to fill in the white areas around her shoulders?

Keep up the great work!!

Well, thanks! There is going to be a cocoon suspended on the left hand side and a cracked egg-shell in the lower right-hand side. Fairly straightforward symbolism here

My god, girl, this is insanely good. Beautiful tones and textures. The organic/mechanical mix of the hair, cogs and clocks is perfection. I can't wait to see the finished product.
