Description Like birds
they sit upon perches
behind clean bards
and computer screens
screeching to be fed
chattering to be attended

Canaries
place their wings
around wood
trying to mold it
like clay
praying that their
bloody, splintered
feathers quit sticking

Parrots
flash bright colors
and suck smoke
to cough
to make sure
that lacey curtains burn
-it isn't about them-

Toucans
dream to reach canopies
and brag about close encounters
they peck at leaves
and cry at
those who call this home
they call upon butterflies
to gnaw on them
before Glitterwings is eaten

They are
like birds
in sterilized cages
in synthetic rainbows
in spiteful shadows

Interesting, though a ton more convoluted than your other pieces. Still great! It's not what I expected when I looked at the title. I still don't know who "they" are, though.

"they" refers to actually one person...if you get it right you get to see me dance in heels. (not hard on the guessing so not much of a prize) Convoluted eh? Interesting way to put it. Uhm... ?
