Honestly, to me, this is the BEST pairing, the story just plays out better with these two married, I would go further into detail as to why I love the pairing, but... I dunno if you've beat the game, and I don't wanna completely ruin it for you. XD Sorry, just being cautious. But they're just so sweet together. I mean I like Chrom and Sumia as well, but I prefer her with Gaius.

And I agree, the game just feels more right when you pair Chrom and Robin together.

Oh okay! Then what I meant to say was that, I think it's better because Chrom's ultimate rival.. Was really the love of his life, the heart of Grima. And on top of that, Lucina had both Exalt and Grima's blood in her. I know that part ain't mentioned, but if Robin x Chrom canonically happened, doubtlessly that would be mentioned.
