Description Painted Fawn Farm's first horse! Clearly, i am very proud, seeing as a watermarked it. and, oh yea, I MADE A WATERMARK!!

she will be my starter mare for HArpg

Lacey and Ben Crinall had been married for 3 years and were both strong horse lovers. Together they wanted to breed and raise some of the state's best paint horses. After they married they bought 62 acres in Sullivan County Pennsylvania, and decided to call it home. The property offered a cozy house with 3 bedrooms, and it was already fenced. Once they settled in Ben got to work on what they considered their most important project-building a huge horse barn. And so they did, and for a month or two the barn was empty and full of echos, until dearest little Pie stumbled unexpectedly into their lives, and from a stall spilled the bleats of a hungry fawn every few hours. Once pie started losing her spots, Lacey and Ben decided they wanted to kick off their farm with their first horse. After browsing and not coming up with anything they really liked, they decided to go to the BLM Mustang auction held every summer. There, they offered trained and untrained mustangs fresh off the plains, for very reasonable prices. Speaking of which, they had lost a lot of money after building such a luxurious barn. But the acreage was cheap, because not many people live in the mountains.

Upon arrival the scent of dirty horses filled the air and they took their spots in the bleachers. Horse after horse was paraded in. Ridden by people of all age ranges and sizes, some tugged in, some chased in. None really caught their eye, until a little mare with a spring in her step and interesting markings took her turn in the auction ring. Her rider was a female, about 28 years old, and she seemed relaxed, as if she knew the horse was perfectly trained for the noise and commotion of an auction ring. Ben looked at Lacey after they had gotten an eyefull of the mare called "Willow Keys", and got an approving nod and an excited smile. The bid started and $125 and gradually rose until it was just 2 people bidding on the horse at $650. Lacey scanned the bleachers for the other bidder, and when she spotted him, she knew immediately he was a meat buyer. He had a clipboard and was wearing a suit, and had someone on the phone, probably his boss. At this, she raised her hand and shouted $900! Ben didnt look suprised, he knew she liked the horse, and she saw the meat buyer say something to the man on the phone, and he hungup and didnt raise his hand any more. "We did it!! We got our first horse!" The couple beamed at eachother before looking back at their new mare who was being led out of the ring. "Yea, our first horse, and she's a good one." said Ben with a quirky smile. They were both terribly excited to get her home. Once loaded, with unusually great ease, she settled in nicely, and as the weeks drew on turned out to be a wonderful, easy going mount for her dominant rider, who was Lacey.
