What kind of scanner do you have? Mine sucks and i'm in the market for a new one.

I gots me a Epson Stylus. It's a scanner/copier/printer

What model? I had a dell and then a lexmark and they both eat my pencil/marker shading.

CX5400 but it's an older one, my mother has the newer epson though and it works just as well. It's a good quality scanner but you still I still use the tools in photoshop like quality fix, remove dust and scratches, and blurs, plus occasionally contrasts.

'quality fix'? 'remove dust and scratches'? Are those actual tools? What version of photoshop do you have, cause i have CS2 and i've never seen those. I do individual adjustment layers using 'levels' 'brightness/contrast' and 'hue/saturation' then i get in close with the clone tool to try to hide the areas my scanner decided not to scan.

while yes I do use an older version of photoshop to clean up my pictures, and yes it does have those exact tools, all of that can be done in CS and CS2. I found the remove tool can be substituted by the blur tool under filter. And yeah just play with the contrast to clean up the color quality
