Oh the colors are stunning! Excellent capture but I was wondering if you tried it with a black frame instead of white? I was picturing it in my mind. It's a lovely shot.

imagine a world without color.... seeing everything in tones of grey

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

dkbarto In reply to LiveLongAndProsper [2007-10-12 22:21:24 +0000 UTC]

I'm color blind. Red/Green, as are 11% (1 in 9) all men. I still see other colors, and this shot is impressive even when some of them are muted.

As a result I'm very dependent on color match technology, using Pantone charts, and other hardware to make sure that my photos are the best they can be.

LiveLongAndProsper In reply to dkbarto [2007-10-16 22:14:20 +0000 UTC]

is that what they call "daltonism" ? I read something about an island somewhere in the Pacific ocean where almost all the inhabitants are color blind.

Does it influence the way you live your life a lot ? (apart from the obvious art-related issues)

thanks for that link. It really looks very similar. But the guy at the market just put the colours in a bit of water, and started painting on our hands.

whereas the rangoli are edible (for little ants etc), aren't they?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

unknownchild In reply to LiveLongAndProsper [2006-10-21 19:29:20 +0000 UTC]

yea they are, i suppose...but it's purpose is mainly to make designs. Thats cool. do you have a picture of your hand?? :-D

unknownchild [2006-10-18 21:50:05 +0000 UTC]

ooo i thought it was rangolis too!

cool like how you captured the color in everyday life we often seem to be oblivious to

Photo is awesome, and colours are beautiful. I just don't like the frame. TYou've put all the colours from the photo in it, and it seams too crowded. It really spoils the photo. Try instead to make it a bit wider and only white (with black thin stroke maybe). I think it'd be much better

the photo is still amazing

LiveLongAndProsper In reply to Smil [2006-10-13 22:10:02 +0000 UTC]

thanks for the comment...and since you are not the first person who suggests to change the frame, i will do it in a couple of days.

thx!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Smil In reply to LiveLongAndProsper [2006-10-16 18:08:43 +0000 UTC]

yea

it looks so much better now

those colours are very strong lolz i can't look at 'em for a long time
how long do they stay on body? Is it like henna, for couple of months, or just until you wash them away? And what about the chlotes? I'm so curious about it, I'd love to experiment with them some day.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LiveLongAndProsper In reply to Smil [2006-10-16 21:11:51 +0000 UTC]

the shop keeper painted a flower on my hand with it, and it stayed maybe two or three days maximum (it faded quite quickly).

And then we learned that these colours are actually not so good for your body, as they mix it with lots of chemicals that make it not so safe for human "consumption"

Don't know about clothes, we were not THAT experimental
