Description
I wanted to portray Ironhide as the old scrapper that he is, so I decided to make him in almost a boxing pose, taking on some unseen enemy. It was fun to try something different with a Transformer, instead of just another "holding a gun" pose. Though, there will be plenty more of those coming!I'm actually looking into putting together an All-Transformer sketchbook, hopefully in time for San Diego Comic-Con. I need about 40 drawings, and I believe I've got around 25 now. So, there will be many more TF drawings on the way. I'm looking to do some more obscure characters as well, though all from the G1 era. Any suggestions, shoot me a comment!

If you're thinking of doing a "Transformers" sketchbook, it's best to start first with the one and only "Generation 1."

Livio, man this is great. I can't wait for you to put your book together. Ever consider drawing Voltron? I was thinking about commissioning you to do one when you come back to Phoenix. It's always better if you let me know about a commission before the con so I can start it in the peace and quiet of my own home, and they tend to turn out a little better too.

Love the way you drew the spatters and damage on him. It looks a lot more convincing than a lot of other battle damage I've seen.

I am very impressed with your portfolio, your Transformers work in particular. You capture the characters very well.
For obscure characters, I would suggest the Triple Changers, both Decepticon and Autobot (Astrotrain, Blitzwing, Octane, Springer, Sandstorm, and Broadside), and one of my personal favourite Decepticons: Crankcase.

Thanks very much! I am definitely going to get around to Blitzwing and Astrotrain. I have less of an affection for Springer and the other movie characters, but I'll probably get to them. I'm actually not sure who Crankcase is! I will look him up..

Crankcase was a Triggercon with a bad work ethic. I had a toy of him when I was little, so he remains one of my favourites.

Your pencil work makes everything look so solid. I agree, the pose is a nice change from holding/pointing a gun.

Oh wow! It captures to ornery old essence of Ironhide quite well. Nice change of pace from the "holding a gun" pose you mention...not that there is anything wrong with said poses. heh.
Also, BEAUTIFUL work on your colored pics. Thumbs up on both the Constructicon vs Dinobots one and the Decepticon one.
