Finished piece based on this inked sketch: [link]Made like 4 or 5 new brushes for this
mainly used on the background. Tried to get the right mood on there, not exactly what I had in mind, but in the end acceptable for me. Well.. nothing more to say here

Not sure if anyone's pointed this out, but the leg that should be farther back is farther forward.

Oh, I do know about that issue
I already wanted to change this on the lineart, but meanwhile coloring I totally forgot about it, the whole character was more tilted to the left before that's why the farther back leg is placed that way.

Ok - this is rather crazy. A hunting stag... I mean, stags don't even eat meat? What is he hunting? Judging from the title of this picture - everything that comes near his territory, I suppose.
Well, I certainly don't want to come across him. Or then I want to find myself a good and dense bush I can hide in. Or wearing an arrow-proof armour.
It's a rather nice idea. Even though it slightly disturbs me, I do like it.

How does layers help for colouring>? If it does.

Oh layers can definitely help, for example, if you have the lineart on one layer and the coloring behind it, you can also color the lines and work with gradients on the color-layer for example, which would work if all of that stuff would be on one layer

Das ganze strahlt so eine unglaubliche Wärme und Harmonie aus... da meint man glatt Vögel zwitschern zu hören. Das Lineart war ja schon genial, aber das hier...
Das Zusammenspiel von Licht und Schatten ist einfach... überzeugend.
Genau wie der detaillierte Hintergrund.
Kurzum, gemeinsam fügt sich alles, mitsammt dem tollen Charakter zu einem echten Augenschmaus zusammen

Hab ja eigentlich mit dem Hintergrund angefangen, nur die Skizze als Platzhalter drin, Bäume und alles mit Rinde und Detail versehen, aber mit Charakter hab ich dann das ganze wieder reduziert, weil der ging in den ganzen Texturen leider viel zu sehr unter, sieht aber glaub ich so ganz nett aus

ein seltsamer bogen...das ist das erste was mir aufgefallen ist
fell is super, und die schatten auf dem fell lassen richtig das blätterdach erkennen (auf brust, schulter gesicht...oder is des nur meine einbildung? 
der hintergrun is auch gut....sieht aber a weng 2D aus, im gegensatz zum "jagendem Hirsch"
schönes bild...und schön frühlingshaft

Und ja die helleren punktförmigen Stellen auf seinem Oberkörper sollen den Lichteinfall zwischen Blättern und Ästen darstellen, ist zwar in "echt" viel scharfkantiger so ein Schatten, habs aber dann doch blurry gemacht, damits nicht aussieht als hätt er so ein Muster am Körper
Der Bogen ist eher ne Spielerei, damit der aussieht als wär ein kleines Geweih drauf, ob der in "echt" so funktionieren würd könnt' ich so gar nicht sagen
