Description
I started this very early in the year, maybe like February. I was inspired during my History of Art class while watching the powerpoint of the art work that day. I had already seen this dress in the textbook before and other places...but there was something about seeing it full screen [while sitting in the front row] large enough to make a mural. I was just struck with the beauty of the dress.

I'm not a fan of Madame de Pompadour, or the french court of that time, though I will say that my knowledge of this time period before the revolution is not very great and mostly consists of whatever I briefly learned in gr 12 and through History of Art.

Anyways, back to the drawing. I sketched and inked most of it, then began coloring it with pencil crayons. I stopped after a month and about a month ago re-found it in my sketch book and began slowing coloring it again (i get tired of pencil crayons very easily ) Sadly the camera and photoshop really didn't get the colors and texture right, so I did a bit of photoshoping to make it pretty.

Anyways, I love this piece. ALOT! I hope you like it too!
Also, why an elf? Well it was the dress I mostly wanted to capture, and at the time I was reading LotR so...go figure
