I'd been dying to shoot Amon Amarth for years, largely in part due to the amazing photos I've seen of them on this site. Finally got the opportunity to do that at my favorite nearby venue... and go figure Sabaton opened and stole the show, in my honest opinion. I'd heard of them, but didn't know entirely what to expect in terms of performance, and they absolutely just blew me out of the water. Joakim is an amazing performer and a blast to photograph! Though this shot is my favorite from the night, it was the first in a series which lead to him fake picking his nose and eating it (posted on my facebook page here ). Anyway. Go see Sabaton if you get the chance.Related content

What a great shot of Joakim. Up close and personal with his hand stretched and image reflecting on his trademark glasses. Also glad to see I am not the only one liking the band either.
It is somehow weird how some concert photos can take you in thought back to concerts you have visited yourself whereas some others are just of people you have seen on stage earlier. This is one of those making me think how it was when I saw them live... Must be good, then! And I think every Sabaton album has its moments, but my vote would go for Carolus Rex.

Okay that was a double bill that rocks. I love this shot. Very up close and personal.
But how do you get your camera into the concert. I ask becaurse I have 3 concerts
coming up in the next 6 mounth and I will love to take pictures. And you know a Dslr
is so much better that a mobilphone. And yes one of the concerts is with Sabaton.

To get your camera in, you have to request permission from the band's management or record label. They usually only grant credentials to people that will be reviewing or promoting the band in some way. I run a local online entertainment publication (www.rock-concert-photography) , so I cover shows around the area for that.
Good luck though, they are very much fun to photograph!

What a great shot! And what a nice coincidence too: a friend of mine asked me a couple of days ago: "Hey, do you wanna come with me to see Sabaton live in February?", and I was a bit ashamed to answer: "Sabaton? Who are they?".
So I checked this group out, and literally fell in love with their last album, Heroes...
Now, I open DA and you upload this amazing shot... that's a sign from above, that means I have to go and see Sabaton live!

Saw them at GMM earlier this year already. But still, club shows are different than festival in mood.
Also really looking forward to Avatar in December! They where amazing at Alcatraz.
