The idea of drowning, being underwater in general, has always fascinated me. I think that's part of the reason that I like mermaids and the ocean so much. This is a lovely, dark picture. The last phase there is particularly fascinating...
...Have you heard Florence and the Machine's latest album? A lot of the songs in it pertain to this sort of subject matter. I think you'd enjoy it.

Me too! I used to love the water, so much when I was younger. I love the whole fantasy and mystique of the ocean. I remember when I was younger someone telling me that we knew more about space then we did about the ocean and my mind was blown.
I haven't listened to her new record, it's funny you mention that because another friend on here is a big fan. I will have to get it!

The ocean still holds such mysterious charm for me; no matter how cold the water is when we go to the beach, I always go swimming. Always.

I remember one time when I was about 7, I got caught under a big wave and I was under for a few seconds (although it felt like a few hours) and I remember getting really scared at first but then I thought, if I want to be a merboy I better get used to this and I just love the swirling about. I was quite relieved when I was able to breathe again though haha. I just loved being under the water. Now for other reasons I stay away from the water which sucks rather brutally. Especially because I'm living opposite the sea at the moment.

It's an interesting experience, isn't it? It happened to me once, when I was very little. I was kind of entranced until the wave wrecked me onto the shore and my bathing suit bottoms filled up with sand. :/ Oh well, c'est la vie...
