“Just can’t believe you have never been camping before. Your parents didn’t take you on school breaks?” his girlfriend asks as she leans back onto his arm as she wipes her hands with a wet paper towel. The two had just finished eating lunch on their first full day out camping as a couple.
“No. Remember, I lived in the city. This is the most trees I’ve seen…. Well ever.” The large wolf replies, his voice soft and young. The two young adults give each other a kiss, the wolf snickering afterwards. “I remember one time I asked to join the boy scouts and my father told me know because he didn’t want me coming home with fleas. He said he would shave me to my skin if that happened.”
“That’s horrible.” The girlfriend replies, giving him a worried look.
“Oh, he wouldn’t, but dad is always overdramatic. He used to say we couldn’t go to the beach because we would smell like dogs after a day in the water. I think I was fourteen when I had the comeback of ‘well, we smell that way in the rain. So, what’s the difference?’. That summer was the first time I ever saw the coast or had sand under my paws.” The girlfriend looks at the large young wolf after his statement, an idea coming to her head.
“Okay, next camping trip, we are going to the beach. I know a few spots that will make a true camper out of you.” The two laugh before giving each other a kiss.
