Same here. It's a badly upgrade with many glitches that will damage our computers.

Well, it could make them get slow, to the point of crashing constantly the explorer.

The staff I swear only made it for mobile viewing and at that for those wanting to have a dark version over cellphone battery life.

Thanks for sharing your journal, I hope you submitted feedback on the problems you encountered.
I don't see anything positive about like you do. I'm here as a hobby and to relax. The look of Eclipse gives me a headache and using it stresses me.
I do use it everyday and provide feedback. I hope they will redesign it before they force it on everyone.

Yeah I submitted all of it - took a while lol - you can only put so much into the boxes on the feedback page so I had to do it quite a few times 
This is just a hobby for me too, and it would be super annoying if Eclipse was forced on us in its present state - you might be interested in this petition someone started 
An Eclipse PetitionThis probably won't do any good, but I'm going to try it anyway; so gather ’round, everyone! Let's let our voices be heard. Please share this journal with others. Comment here to "sign". Don't comment a bunch times, and don't tag any of the developers yet. After this journal gets enough comments, I'll try to tag as many site developers as I can in a single comment asking them to read and consider this. I know people are probably already doing things like this, but the more people speak up, the better chance we have at actually being heard.
So my petition this: that we keep both Eclipse and the original DeviantArt. It's a very simple solution that will make everyone happy. Those who like Eclipse may use Eclipse, and those who like the "old" DeviantArt may use the old DeviantArt. In fact, Eclipse can be the default, with the old layout being an option that must be turned on by individual users. It's something the devs are capable of, given how that is pretty much the way it's set u

I have tried Eclipse a few times myself and never stay with it very long. Just not my cup of tea. What I hate is how they are manipulating people to use it.
They have been putting up notices about Eclipse trying to sell us on how awesome it will be. Then out of the blue they put an option to switch over to Eclipse that shows up on every page the person visits. They don't say anything about it except subtle messages on the Eclipse blog.
That is pretty underhanded in my opinion. What are people going to do? They are going to use the option and see what happens. If anything they should have put up a notice about Eclipse being available to almost all members now to test. Also give those of us who haven't been reading the Eclipse notices and blog what works and doesn't work in Eclipse. That way we know beforehand and maybe react in a better way to it.
But they choose this sneaky route. By doing so they did more to drive people away from DA than Eclipse would.
What is Eclipse anyway? Just a fancy theme. A way of presenting the data on the website just like the current way. If people running dA really want to keep people on dA and happy then they would leave it the way it is now. As a choice between the old way and Eclipse. If anything they have shown over the past year, that they can make it a choice. No need to force Eclipse down the throats of people that don't want it. But I have the feeling that our ability to choose will one day be taken away.
If they do make Eclipse mandatory, then I will probably leave dA for good. No need learn how to do things again here. Especially when I have my own websites that I can share my artwork on. Websites that I can deviant in a way that suits me.

I've met some people like that and have had a Senior Member visit me to explain some thing and promote Eclipse. Still hate it

Ah, so there's still 'senior members' around. I'm still curious as how to people become 'senior'. I mean, I've been here for about a decade and I've still not seen myself turning 'senior'. Still I've been subscribed most of the time. Ain't now though as I feel the benefits for being senior has dried up quite a bit. Not seeing ads is simply not enough for me.
But I digress, Eclipse could need another overhaul before they consider launching it for real. Unclutter it for instance and fix the bugs.

I hate it too - and I haven't even tried it yet! Yes, I'm an old fart who doesn't like change in computing terms (took me ages to get used to new Firefox after they took all the great customiseable features away) but everything I've read over the last couple of days from my friends on DA has convinced me that I don't want Eclipse! Maybe we're all just like-minded old farts but I'm sure not all of us fall into that category - some of them are under 30 for God's sake!

I was at RENDEROSITY years ago and they 'changed' the 'look'
and such to their site awhile back .... DISASTER .... LOTS of
folks LEFT .... SIGHS .... NEVER 'asked' MEMBERS what THEY
WANTED .... Just 'decided' to DO it up THEIR way ....
Which, I guess IS THERE 'choice' since it IS THEIR site ....
I used to run businesses before I retired .... Understand CHANGE ....
But ALWAYS tried to ASK MY CUSTOMERS what THEY would like to SEE
from OUR company and worked THAT INTO "OUR'' needs, etc.!! ....
Q: Do you understand it to be that in a matter of 'time' specific 'days'
that ALL Deviant Art peeps WILL BE MOVED TO this ECLIPSE and the
OLD D.A. will be GONE forever? .... Q: Did D.ART give a "TIME" frame
for this 'changeover'? ....
