Description
This is both a fantastic pic and a melancholy pic all at the same time...
First off, I finally got a pic from , I've dreamed of getting something from him for years now. And now I finally have something from him...to commemorate some good times I had with products from a company I can't support anymore.
For the fans of my gallery you can see here I have Sahlia on the left, KeiKo, in the middle, and Hali on the right side in this picture. If you are new go look at the galleries for all four of them (KeiKo, or Kei and Ko, are conjoined twins).
Why these four in one pic you ask? I know you're not but humor me here. All these character were created (at least partially) through the Wizards of the Coast owned game Dungeons and Dragons (or D&D, either way). A few months ago WotC was considering a new version of their Open Gaming License (OGL), the OGL lets companies produce third party stuff for D&D and actually say it's for that game. The newest version of the OGL that was leaked a few months ago was absolutely terrible, it wanted a cut of any crowdfunded projects done to support D&D, every company would have to pay royalties to either support or use the game, and they granted themselves full rights to strip mine anyone's IP to find new stuff for themselves to sell. The outrage over the new version of the OGL was immediate and overwhelming. The support website, D&D Beyond, had about 40,000 cancellations after this became public. I have to agree with the people that are unhappy about this, that is a terrible way to do business. And because of that I'm done with any future versions of D&D. I have the books for 2nd ed through 5th ed so I can play those again, but going forward I think I'm good.
Paizo, another company (and the other half of the development of KeiKo) has a new agreement similar to the OGL that other companies can also use in response to what WotC did. I will admit there are other companies that make games that I love, and there are older games that are free to get or cheaper than when they were new.
The end result is I finally have an Access commission, and it's of two famous characters and two that might not be as well known.
The old business knows this is the only line up you'll ever see of these four:
