Depeche Mode are an English Electronic Act formed in Basildon back in 1980. The Act currently consists of Dave Gahan and Martin Gore.
Depeche Mode, originally formed by the Line-Up of Dave Gahan, Martin Gore, Andy Fletcher, Vince Clarke released their Debut Album called Speak & Spell back in 1981, bringing the Act onto the British Synth-Pop Scene. After Founding Member Vince Clarke left, following the release of the album, they Recorded 'A Broken Frame' as a Trio. Martin Gore took over as Main Songwriter and later, in 1982, Alan Wilder replaced Vince Clarke, establishing a Line-Up that continued for 13 Years. The Act's Last Albums of the 1980's known as Black Celebration & Music For The Masses established them as a Dominant Force within the Electronic Music Scene. A Highlight of this Era was the June 1988 Concert at the Pasadena Rose Bowl, where they drew a Crowd in excess of 60,000 People. In early 1990, they released Violator, an International Mainstream Success. The following Album called Songs Of Faith & Devotion, released in 1993, was also a Success, though Internal Struggles during Recording and Touring resulted in Alan Wilder departing in 1995. Depeche Mode continued with the Trio Line-Up of Dave Gahan, Martin Gore, and Andy Fletcher, until Fletcher's Sudden Death in Mid 2022.
