I don't know anything about the lensbaby effect, but it definitely makes this a striking photograph. That little bit of focus in the center and the dark greys makes this a rather intense and eerie shot. The landscape is made to seem stark, and the almost grainy look makes this seem like a far older shot. I can picture this as a clip from an old black and white movie.

Very interesting shot. It has a nice creepy feel to it. I love the use of the lensbaby, too. I would like to experiment with one of those someday. How did you do the scratchy effects?

It's like going back in time, an impression I receive from that awesome blur around the edges. This land looks ready for a storm, as if holding its breath for the impending disaster. A lot of feeling here. Beautiful.
