Description 16 x 20
Oil on canvas

Now you see how limited my creativity is, I unintentionally painted two places that look the same!!!!
Horrible craftsmanship, too! Maybe I should work off from photos for now, it's more efficient economically....

(And I took a crappy picture, too. But whatever, I'm too pissed off take another photo)

I think you have good style. When I took a class in oils they had us pick some masters and try to copy them for color and some brush strokes. Their are so many styles to pick from don't be hard on your self if you can't be Bob Ross. Also remember with oils your not always looking for reality.

I shouldn't have unnaturalness in my paintings, either.

I like how the two trees on the side cover some of the painting, they are like curtains starting to reveal the grand show. Or it's like a hidden paradise. Very beautiful

lol
It could've been better with only one tree, what I learned from this painting is that a symatrical composition is boring...

You made this up? Not bad at all
Perhaps you want to paint a little reflection of the mountains...
or some flowers and brigther colors on the foreground.
Also, you may want to remove the leaves on one side...
it's quite hard to see where the point of focus is.
Just my suggestion.

"Also, you may want to remove the leaves on one side..."
I will watch out for that next time, thank you for your advice. It's just hard to know what I want to paint over that area, next thing I know there are some ugly looking bushes hanging....

"some flowers and brigther colors on the foreground. "
I really did try to add bright color on the foreground, but when I apply it onto the canvas it starts to mix up with the dark underneath, and I really don't know what the problem is and how to prevent tha.

You can leave that space blank.(you can still do it once the paint is dry) The bushes are not ugly..it's just a matter of composition. Don't put everything at the center or at the sides..on both sides in your case. Use the "rule of third".

That's the problem with oil. Did you know that it will probably take more than 6 months (or even years) for oil painting to fully dry-up? Anyway, keep experimenting.

I love this so much! I think the colors are beautiful. I don't see anything wrong with it.

Thanks...
I tried to achieve the some effects of some masters like Bob Ross, compared to his, this painting really IS amateur.

Yah but how can you become a master without lots of practice? And he had to start somewhere. Keep that in mind and don't be too hard on yourself. Think of it the way I do, there are plenty of people who can't draw stick figures, and they'd be jealous of your talent, and your jealous of Bob's. It's all a cycle and with practice you can get better and show up the rest of us. xD

I DO know the rule of practice, I'm not afraid of it, either, it's just that oil paints are so expensive, I can't afford to practice too much.
