Well Der Erlkonig is "the elf king". It's from this old german folktale / poem about the king of elves/faeries who basically steals children away to his realm (thus leaving them dead in our world). So... since he's the king of the fae I figured he could probably look like whatever he wants and wouldn't have a definite "face" ^_^;;;
