Description
When she arrived in the town square, Alabaster's mind flashed back to Warptide night. Blood, screams, steel on flesh and the strange screams of a black-blooded beast. The flash of pale gray that she had ended up fighting alongside, shielding each other and shouting warnings when something came their way. Her eyes wandered around the square, trying to catch a glimpse of that familiar color.

Her chest felt hollow as she realized she didn't see anyone that looked familiar. Biting her lip to keep herself from feeling too bad, she walked towards the place where they'd set up a memorial for their dead nova tree with its replacement planted in the center. Not many gros milled about today - it was the middle of the day on a Wednesday, when most people would be at work or eating lunch, and the day held the chill of the oncoming winter. For a moment, Alabaster regretted not bringing her shawl, but the layer of fur that covered most of her body kept her decently warm.

She was about to sit when she noticed another wyngro sitting alone by the monument. There was another group of three wynglings visiting the nova seed, but they scattered when they noticed Alabaster approaching, meaning that was the only other wyngro about. Alabaster felt a little self-conscious as she studied the back of the figure, wondering if perhaps... well, wyngrew were creatures that were wont to change. The coloration was still a gray hue, albeit much darker, and the ears were the same.

Swallowing her apprehension, Abalaster approached the other gro, going around so she could sit beside her on the same side of the wall. Trying to subtly glance over, she found that the other wyngro was fidgeting, her eyes wandering as she fiddled with her fingers. She was caught off-guard as her gaze was met with stunning green, and Alabaster's eyes quickly fell back into her lap. Could it really be? Only one way to tell.

"I guess I can't call you Quicksilver anymore, huh?"

The dark gray wyngro perked up, turning to look at Alabaster. "It's.... It is you!" she said, seeming stunned but also overjoyed.

"Haha, yeah, it's me," Alabaster chuckled, finally letting herself really look at her. She felt her face grow warm as she saw how the other had changed, how pretty she still was. "My name is Alabaster, by the way. Never really... got a chance to tell you that night."

"I wouldn't mind you calling me Quicksilver if you wanted, but it's, um - Bella." She gave Alabaster a broad grin, one that stunned her for a moment before she also gave one in return.

"Bella. It's pretty! I like it." Alabaster reached up to run a clawed hand through the fur on the back of her neck, looking anywhere but at Bella. Why was she being so awkward? She wasn't usually this socially awful. Like, yes, she was never great at talking to others, but this was just... terrible.

Before Bella could respond to Alabaster's short, disjointed sentences, she finally got out what she was trying to say. "So, Bella, now that I've found you again, would you want to - I don't know - go out to get a drink sometime?"
