Description taken of a woman making food on the streets of Hoi An, Vietnam...
Her worries were etched into her kind face.

Here's my vote for more photojournalism on DA.

Great detail and I love the warm tone. You are right photojournalism is a bit underappreciated in general, not just on this site. Great shot.

Emotional capture. The tone is great, and more importantly, you have titled the piece perfectly. You can almost see the thought process taking place by looking at the stress and tension in her face.

Brilliant.

what she's holding in her hand is "banh trang", made from rice.

This is gorgeous. Are you a member of Sepia club? I think you should submit this for their contest

I LOVE the background. I love that she's almost split in two by it, dark and light. Very Yin Yang. I think it's perfect, and I love the textures of it.

Well done! I love this kind of work. It's real, and raw and powerful.

wow... i love this picture... you've given me a new perspective on photojournalism... I kinda shunned photography in 7th grade when my teacher said that my shots were crappy and he wouldn't explain anything... but wow.. this picture... I love it. The expression says a lot and just the p.o.v. shows some meaning. gonna fave this!

photohournalism is good, but often guided into expressive and other categories, because it isn't just photojournalism, is truth, also! and truth has many faces...

anyway, I loved this shot!

AHHH lorlor i looove this one. the lines in the face! this would be so terrifying as a 20x30 print...
shes trying so hard not to look at you, or maybe she hates that shes grown old, like women do in books...

you made a very interesting photo by capturing the moment... i like these photos most, 'cause they are taken 'right out of life'. you also did technically a great job. the contrast is sharp, but not to harsh & the motive is very well placed.

but what realy hits me is the story one can imagine behind her face, her hands and her lively eyes...

love it! photojournalism is yours!

that's my new

bye - t.

the textures on her face are brilliant; the tonal scheme fantastic to emphasize the photograh. Excellent PJ'ing.

I too, wish there were more photojournalism in DA.
However, I think the new categorization isn't too friendly, as it is a bit inconclusive, and most things will just end up in misc...

I love how you can see the kind of life people have lived my what wrinkles have been carved in age by emotion.... The B& W shows it really well.

It's a beautiful photo, I think old people are so much more photogenic.
