I use a cell - phone cam which I normally get good results with as long as I'm not trying to photograph the Moon, etc. I lost a bunch of photos - 2 & 1 / 2 years worth - when my computer crashed & I didn't back anything up ( Goes off into night yelling profanity that w / make Larry Flint blush ).

I started off with cell phones, upgrade to compact if you can and they have good moon shot options
I feel your pain I have mine from 2005-2010 on a harddrive and I am yet to recover them all, keep your pics on sd cards as back ups

I found about 100 - something photos from my old account last night, I'm going to re - post them soon. I took a bunch when I was back home in the Eastern US.
I had a Nikon which was marginally better but now it's become a PAPERWEIGHT for some reason.

I find it relaxing to through my pics and sort them out, a lot can used as stock material as well.

I can alter photos with my phone software, but it changes the size & they usually wind up as " scraps ". I have done some truly trippy work. Sometimes I call it " Kubrickizing ".

Maybe I could re - size them by putting them on my monitor, shooting them, hoping that my shooting hand is steady enough..... Have a shot of brandy to steady my nerves.

Snow - Fun to look at from a DISTANCE.
Ice - Nice as long as it doesn't dilute the bourbon / whiskey / brandy.

I had a photograph from last Winter where this old cobblestone walkway was covered in a solid SHEET of ice. It's a good thing I use a power chair or I couldn't make it in such a mess. This smaller town I live in now has very LITTLE night - life, but it's not without some charm. Even more when there isn't enough ice out there to sink the Titanic - & NONE in my drink !

That's an advantage of having a power chair. A disadvantage is not having a heater & convertible - hood. Or a holder for a cup of orange & vodka ( Brandy, whiskey, Guinness..... ).

People in the States have been pulled over by the gendarmes for driving power chairs & similar conveyances whilst buzzed. I'm surprised I haven't gotten arrested YET. Just dumb, blind luck. & I haven't violated any open - container laws. YET
