Mature warning for male nudity!Oh man, I've gotten HOOKED on KisaIta lately, reading tragic freaking fan fictions and sobbing over how much I love the way people write them. Also there's so much good artwork of this ship that it's like impossible not to develop feelings for it ;A; I guess now I like them as a ship as well as a bromance
Anyway, here's my little contribution. I was listening to Sarah McLachlan feeling all hardcore emotional and stuff and thought of a scenario the day before Sasuke comes to get his revenge. Itachi just wants to not think or do anything so he goes showers with Kisame and then he gets all vulnerable and breaks down crying. Kisame knowing him all too well by now tries to comfort him because he knows that death is scary even for people like him... OMG /CRYY WHY DO I DO THIS TO MYSELF UGH I'M GOING TO BED AND DRAWING HAPPY THINGS TOMORROW FFS.

I didn't see this until now. It's so beautiful. I never could understand the beautiful relationship thet Kisame and Itachi had until not long ago. They fit together like two pieces of a puzzle. And this picture shows it perfectly. We can't see Itachi's face, but we can see his saness reflected on Kisame's. The light and the shading only adds to the atmosphere. They are s-ranked criminals with such a sad but beautiful relationship.
You managed to(again) make me want to stare at a picture and this time cry on my laptop. very, very, beautiful.

Kisame and Itachi had such an interesting relationship, I wish Kishi-sensei would have went deeper into it. From the beginning we knew Itachi ran that relationship, Kisame knew he was no match for the guy so he played the subordinate role, but he showed a subtle sense of caring by calmly reminding Itachi that using his eyes too much was bad for his health which I think makes him a better friend. But as the series goes on and Itachi's illness gets worse, we see Kisame stepping up to do a lot of the work so Itachi could take it easy, and the bond he felt to Itachi before he ever met him was special, he had no real friends, he doubted his own existence and considered it a lie. I feel like Kisame had real love for Itachi, not in a yaoi way, but he genuinely cared for him.

Yeah, I always liked that - the subtle reminders Kisame gave Itachi not to use his eyes too much... So touchinggg.
And at the end, as Kisame's dying he remembers that conversation with Itachi and UGH. Feelingsssss.

There's only two members of akatsuki that I wanted to live, Kisame was one of them, it would have been interesting to see him confront Sasuke after Itachi's death. To me, Kisame was a much better friend than Naruto has ever been to anyone.

I really see them like bigger friends that they would admit. But Itachi and Kisame are both pretty cool, enough that their relationship can even work as a cople. (Cming from a person who normaly doesn't like Non Canon yaoi)

Bromance (in my mind at least) is a completely platonic male relationship. So essentially I like them as just friends better than lovers, but I've grown to like them as both now haha.

this is beautiful btw, somehow the nudity (I use nude for art, not for the connotation of being explicit) and stark lines (Kisame's shoulderblades, his facial bones) adds to the raw vulnerability.

Oh man, Kisa/Ita is like one of my favorite pairings, well if I'm honest I like anything with Kisame in it, but I lik this one more than most haha. I think Kisa/Ita and Kisa/Sasuke are my two favs though. I wrote something very similar to this where Itachi says goodbye to Kisame without telling him goodbye since he knows he's going to die. These two...they just have some chemistry between them and I think Itachi was able to bring out the good in Kisame. It's so sad. Sniff. I love the angst.

I also like Kisame with pretty much anyone, but yes you can't deny that his personality really meshes with a select few people. I really like the part in the anime where they show Kisame meeting Itachi for the first time and their animosity towards one another, then later we see the little moments between them that show how much their relationship has progressed. I really love their dynamic so much.
