Description I have to admit... I'm not a fan of Kite-Man, despite all of the popularity he's received since his debut in the "Harley Quinn" adult animated series, and I know it seems odd to be submitting artwork with a lengthy description of a character I'm not too fond of, but I'm more "on the fence" with him. His first impression with Poison Ivy was terrible; first he kept making passes at her despite her complete lack of interest in him, then in a stupid and thoughtless bid for her attention, he slipped her deadly pheromone dust into some kids' drinks to make them horny for her, not knowing that it would have turned them into human-tree hybrids and killed them, and when he flew her to her apartment to get the antidote for that pheromone dust, he went and tried to seduce her into sex by stripping naked and hopping onto her bed. Why Ivy even stayed in contact with him after that is still a mystery, though I will admit that time did allow him to prove he's a decent guy despite his idiotic behaviors. However, if I'm not mistaken, they only dated for about 4 months before he proposed to her a total of 3 times, and despite the secret of her affair with Harley being revealed, after Ivy apologized to Kite-Man for it and convinced him to go through with the wedding, he basically broke the last remaining thread that was holding all hopes of their future together by reciting his vision of "shuttling their four children between sports, martial arts, and spending Sunday dinners at his parents' house once they let him and Ivy back into their lives" during the wedding vows; it sounds an awful lot like he was pressuring her into changing who she is into the kind of person he wants her to be instead of accepting her for who she is. Was Kite-Man ever even aware of how much blood is on Ivy's hands?

Bottom line? I don't hate Kite-Man, and I know he's a likable guy whom I admit I can somewhat relate to. I just think his fans' sympathies for him are misplaced, especially after he introduced his feculent parents to Ivy. Additionally, I think the "Ivy x Kite-Man" ship was doomed to sink from the beginning and should prove to be more of a learning experience for both Ivy and Kite-Man.

What I think should happen, though it likely wouldn't in Season 3, is for Harley to meet with Kite-Man and help him move forward in his life by discussing the mistakes he made with Ivy so he doesn't repeat any of them with who may become his real soulmate someday (In review, his bad first impression with Ivy, rushing his relationship with her, and pressuring her to change who she is) before she next discusses the part of his wedding vows (All of which Ivy would likely share with Harley by that point) that focused specifically on his parents, where Kite-Man reluctantly reveals to Harley that his parents were born with superpowers and looked down on him his whole life merely because he was born with none of his own. Harley would then open his eyes to what he should have figured out himself long ago, that being born with no superpowers was not his choice. She would also express her belief that one of the biggest reasons Kite-Man pursued Ivy in the first place was out of a desperate hope that marrying a woman with superpowers would earn him his parents' love. Once this painful truth sinks in, Harley then would relay how the skills he developed in building his kite-shaped glider and the telepathic inhibitor that she used to free Ivy from Dr. Psycho's mind control with basically saved the world and he did so without superpowers, something which his parents clearly love more than their own son. Once Kite-Man experiences a life-changing epiphany and declares that he's better off without his parents, she encourages him to go stand up to them, which he not only does immediately after having thanked Harley, but even deliberately humiliates both of them by publicly shaming and disowning them right outside of the same bistro where he introduced them to Ivy, for every employee and patron to see and hear.

No longer bound by his futile efforts to earn his disgraced parents' approval of him having no superpowers, Kite-Man would embrace the start of his new and better life in a way he could never have prepared himself for... By colliding with Roxy Rocket while flying across Gotham and just zoning out. It would be funny if it resulted in Kite-Man unintentionally sweeping Roxy off of her rocket and sending it flying blindly across the city and almost crashing into a school before Kite-Man flies in close enough for Roxy to command the rocket to fly straight up and land safely on the ground with a remote she keeps with her (Thus, meeting a woman would result in Kite-Man endangering some kids' lives yet again, only this time it would be an honest accident).

Here's why Roxy Rocket would make a perfect soulmate for Kite-Man, and vice-versa; there is the obvious, being their passion for flight technology (Which at first glance, would be easy to see more as a rivalry than a romance, except that a competition between a kite and a rocket would be over before it even began), but then there's the both of them being lower tier villains in Gotham, which, since they're both also ordinary humans with no superpowers, would allow them to grow more naturally together. Once they start dating, pull off a successful heist together and narrowly slip through death's fingers, Kite-Man would experience an adrenaline rush that makes him realize he hadn't lived a single day in his life until he met Roxy, and just being with her in the short amount of time that's passed since they started dating has made him feel more alive than he ever had his entire life beforehand. At the same time, being with Kite-Man would make Roxy realize that her lust for thrills has bordered on an unhealthy addiction that has needlessly endangered the lives of others (Demonstrating a code of honor in which, since she is a burglar at the worst like Kite-Man, she would never threaten the lives of innocent people in her crimes), and that there are other ways to feel alive without the need to toy with death just for a daily dose of adrenaline, while still enjoying thrills whenever the chance for one presents itself. And finally, Roxy would be the kind of woman Kite-Man would have expected to consider all men, especially him, beneath the dirt she walks on, but instead she sees all others as equals and doesn't consider herself better than anyone else despite being so beautiful and talented, putting Kite-Man completely at ease with her. With Kite-Man being a true gentleman at heart, who treats her like a human being with an actual soul as opposed to a sex object (Which her past history of relationships, especially in Hollywood, apparently consisted of), Roxy would find herself equally at ease with him.

I could especially imagine Kite-Man finding himself so humbled and smitten by Roxy Rocket that he would initially struggle just to engage in an everyday conversation with her without hunching and turning away at the last second out of fear that someone he believes to be completely out of his league would just see him as a joke, despite how easy it's been for her to talk to him and the immediate liking she's taken to him.
