1. Who would have thought that it would be Akemi?
I know, many did. Wasn't much of a mystery either when she's in the original chapter, teased in the cover and hasn't made her appearance yet. But hey, it could have been Sato as well, wanting to interrogate the witnesses again.

2. Writing Akemi was a lot more difficult than I expected.
This is because, while she's a very important person to the story and every DC watcher knows her, she actually has very little screentime and is playing a role most of the time so we have very little clue what her character actually is like. We learn from Haibara that she has to be somewhat similar to Ran but we don't know what parts are and which aren't. So, I had to just decide on a character that I thought would make sense given what she did though it's likely that it will be a bit different from what you might be expecting.
