Description This was something for school, which turned out to be interesting. I wanted to show what and who Ive been inspired by since I started down this artistic path. Everyone can see the Van Gogh influence, but I also looked at Seurat and how he used subtle variations of tints / tones / shading to create subtle changes in the colors he used. Also I wanted to comment on Rodin's "Thinker". I've always thought there was a interesting diachonomy in that work. Rodin's subject was so still, calm, serene, but inside that head, you know there was a lot going on. As I worked, i kept in mind the Art Nouveau movement, and the impressionist/post-impressionist movements. This is what I got. A lot of people have told me I look like Martin Luther King.........scheee-yeah, no pressure!
I'd love feedback! positive or negative, just tell me why.

I really like it as well. This has very nice mood... It's calm and soothing in a way. You can really see the the thought behind and the colours you've chosen are awesome. Well done!

Thanks!!! I wasn't too sure that the thought behind the colors would show, just cause of the "haphazzard" way I used line in the piece, but yeah, there was a lot of trial and error with this one! Thanks again, hope things are good with ya'

I really like it. Did you use a graphics tablet to do the painting, mouse drawn or was it a scan in? You look so still in this picture, but the lines of colour give me a hint of movement, what are you thinking in that pose?

Thanks! I did use a tablet for this, although a lot of the lines look really uniform, you know? I was trying to juxtapose the stillness of my pose with the movement of the undulating lines I put down, but honestly as I sat there for the shot I thought....."How the hell am I gonna do this project?!"

I had another shot, but I looked quite goofy, so I went with a more dramatic pose.
Thanks again for your comments!
