Description
Ixtab, Goddess of the Rope.Mayan goddess and guardian of suicides. Associated with the eclipse, she guides the souls of those who have killed themselves, as well as women who die in childbirth, victims of sacrifice, priests, and slain warriors to the afterlife.

Wow, this piece is hands-down the most popular thing I have EVER submitted to DeviantART. In roughly 17 hours, it has become my most favorite-ed deviation, passing up my two Daily Deviations, and in less than a day! I'm shocked and flattered, and extremely grateful that people have such a positive reaction to this piece. Honestly, I wasn't expecting people to like it that much, and was anticipating a mild response to it's posting. Also, check out this awesome work that was inspired by it: ! And again...Thank you.

Ahh, Ixtab. I have fond memories of her, my first project in my Civilizations course being on her. This is a neat interpretation, I like the skull-looking makeup you gave her, and the Maya-style pattern on the headdress is neat. Awesome she gets some love here, great work!
