FINALLY! This is done! It took a while and I had to play around with colors and shading to get it to look right, but it's done! I pretty much did this as an exercise to practice drawing ponies and test out different coloring and sharing techniques. I think it turned out well. Though I just realized I forgot the Cutie Mark. Oh well, she'll just have to deal with being a Blank Flank!This is actually my first completed My Little Pony piece (besides my Discord drawing, but he's not a pony, so I'm not counting him). The idea behind this was that I wanted to draw Pinkie Pie with a gun....so I drew her with a gun! Yes, those are Birthday Candle Bullets/Rockets/Whathaveyou. Yes, the gun is based off of the SPNKr from Halo. We can only wonder what she's shooting at.

Your piece right here has compelled me to write this critique. Alrighty, where to begin.
Vision- For an excercise at drawing ponies, you've done a splendid job with how you carried it out. The style is simple, yet very thorough in telling your story. I cannot say it's perfect, but it's very very close.
Originality - Pinkie Pie kicking ass with a party base weapon. While this idea is not completely original, you took it and made it your own. The 'candle' bullets are a nice touch, and quite creative.
Technique - Now here is really where I'm impressed with. There isn't really much room to work with the color Pink in order to make a contrast between light and shadow, and yet you've found the right amount. The shading work on Pinkie's body is subtle, but enough to notice the dark from the light regions.
Impact - This piece has indeed left an impression on me, for several reasons. You've kept the focus of the piece centered on the gun, with the color vastly contrast with all the pink around it. The second impact is the sort of equalibrium btween the white/light grayish background with the pink of Pinkie Pie's tail. This, almost semetrical split in the background is very pleasing to the eye, and further compliments the artwork.
This is a fine piece, and as my final word I would like to say "Make a wish, Mother****er!"

Thank you! I tried to work with the pink, but not many colors turned out well for a background because it would either contrast too much or look out of place. In the end, I just went with the white, as it goes well with almost all colors especially pink.

My my! Very clever! I've yet to see anything like this on dA by far. There are many things I like about this piece. Let me start by saying what a clever concept you've grasped here. A candle gun? Haha, how charming! I adore that aspect of this. The expression on her face is positively priceless. Very Pinkie-esque. I also really adore how her tail trails into a cloud of pink smoke. That's what I'm assuming it is, pink smoke from the candle gun? Very cute concept. Aside from that, I like the monochromatic aspect of the entire composition. I also love how she isn't quite centered, as if the recoil from the gun sends her back into the air. Exquisite job.
As for improvements, there aren't many. But here are my thoughts. In accordance with it's surroundings, I feel as though Pinkie's body outline should be slightly darker. My eye loses it as it comes to Pinkie's tail. Not to mention, she's missing her cutie mark! And at this angle, you would definitely see it. Another thing she's missing is her nostril. Whether or not this was intentional, I still miss it being there. As for the gun, I'm not the best person about guns, so I won't critique that part of the piece. For form and anatomy, you've got it spot on. I would question her foremost foot for a second because it seems very..."squeezed", compared to her other, but that seems not to make much of a problem. Pinkie's mane and tail are another concern of mine. To me they look kind of glassy, as much of your shading and tinting is with diagonal strokes, causing a sort of glassy, hard look. But again, it doesn't appear to be a big concern. As for the large cloud of smoke, if it is indeed smoke, I would expect to see more of a smokey, cloudy texture. It feels sort of flat.
Aside from any of that, this piece is extremely clever and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Keep up the good work!

Yeah, I started the outline for her before I even decided the color of the tail, silly me. I just plain forgot the cutie marks and the nostril, I was focused on getting the pose right >_<. I based the gun off of the SPNKR from Halo, as I'm not exactly good with weapons either. For the tail, I originally wanted a /more/ glassy feel, but I just made it softer to fit with the rest of the body. It actually wasn't meant to be smoke, just some cool flat design....thing XD.

Wow....All I can really say is wow.....This is extremely well detailed, and it's probably one of the best Pinkie Pie drawings I have seen on D.A.....The detail of Pinkie herself is astounding, and the look on her face is intimidating, and awesome! Moving on, I love how her tail moves into a giant glob of pink, it looks really awesome how you put that in there. The candle canon/gun is freaking epic. Awesome design on that. To conclude this critique, you get a very high rating on this masterpiece. Thank you very much for the critique! I kind of wanted to turn the tail into a design element/background. In the end, it didn't turn out exactly as I wanted, but I still like it. I like the way you described it as a "glob" as it reminds me of cotton candy or gum, both of which seem fitting for her XD.

Love it. Not just because it's Pinkie Pie with a gun that makes cupcakes-which combines three things I love right there-but because the dynamic pose and the layout of the picture make it look very unique. Great work!

I think this might be the best piece of art I've seen you post yet. Regardless of pony subject matter. I like the style of how you shaded, it looks really neat. Whatever you did here, you should keep doing on future images

Thanks. I liked playing with the shading, but it will probably change a lot. This, again was an experiment. I like the shading for this particular piece, but I don't think I'll be using it very often.
