I only had the idea, he did the work

This is one of the sketches I plan on putting into my novel's appendix. There will be around ten including all major characters of the first novel.

Meet Arisu Akiyama, devoted chairwoman of the USO, an organization that is specialized on weapon manufacturing, research and general trading.

She is a cunning, determined and scheming woman. Her lust for power is only excelled by her deeply rooted arrogance.

Her father recently died, which made Akiyama on the one hand the head of this vast organization USO, on the other hand chairwoman of the Terran Council.

In the beginning she had problems to cope with this situation of immense responsibility, but soon Akiyama saw the many possibilities that came by inheriting such a mighty position.

She is descended from the old and noble japanese Tenno, which was disempowered many generations ago. So her main goal is to restore her power and position for the good of all people on Terra, because from her point of view, Terra would flourish and be united, when it is ruled by her.
That is why she hates the church, because in her eyes the United Terran Church possesses too much influence on the people.

Intriguing... sounds very much like how some people believe the Church (the institutions, not the body of believers) has too much influence in our own world...

How is the novel coming along?

I'm still writing and soon I'll begin the third and final part of it.
University really takes most of my time and I have to admit that during my free time I happen to find myself meeting friends in town or conquering the world in "Empire - Total War" rather than writing *exits shamefully*

But kasai's drawings usually give me a morale boost, so I keep on writing and writing. And they are very inspiring. There are some party which I've rewritten just to fit more to kasai's drawn characters (which is very good and gives them much more life) ^^

Don't feel guilty. Study is important, and I also know all too well the lure of entertainment for procrastination and general time-wasting.

Indeed, I know in many cases having an illustration with which to relate to a given character can often give ideas one might not have otherwise. Glad to see the drawings are giving you inspiration to finish!
