The narrow depth of field obtained by the small (number) aperture setting is an example of technical excellence. Also the strong contrast between the blue flowers against the (out of focus) green background adds another element of technical expertise to the image. Additionally the almost obscure, undetectable insect head almost out of view on the top on the distant flower is an element that almost escapes the eye unless one closely examines the photo. I am not usually a fan of close up photography of flowers but this photo grabbed me immediately. You did an excellent job of capturing the moment.

The DoF in the image is great. It lets the viewer focus on the flower and appreciate the space around it. The color contrast is good too and the simple subject couldn't have been chosen better. At full view you can notice some over-sharp edges around the flowers and just a little Gaussian noise, but that's unimportant.
The perspective of the shot is also good and I like the fact that you chose 2 flowers and let only one be in focus.
