Tip:
1. Never go above 800 iso when taking moon shots(it ruins the detail and look on the moon)
2. Use a high shutter speed(as best as you can)
3. Use high aperture, around 8-12 aperture(gives full detail)
4. USE TRIPOD! and a wired or wireless remote(makes taking the picture easier, no shaking and you can get more detail)

You can see some serious grain while looking at the full resolution image of the picture, but I was expecting some because of the high ISO.
The Deviation looks fine though.
Said that, I was wondering what lens did you use for this picture?

Thank you.. yes I agree this high ISO is quite terrible on EOS 500D.. I used a 600 mm lens of a telescope.

You definitely get quite a few details in the smaller pictures. All in all it is a good shot.
