Within the subject of daily life and portraits this beautiful piece stands out to me because achieves a softness rarely found on most photography now days.
It feels organic and alive.
Technically the work has a great composition and the light play across the face and the deep shadows on the background only helps to accentuates the deep and thoughtful look of the subject.
But most important creates on the viewer an emotional response, a catharsis, which is, in the opinion of this writer, the single most important thing an art form must to seek to achieve.
