Because working on an anime under the brutal Japanese broadcast syndication is absolute hell.

One need only to hear stories to know that making an anime is not all it's cracked up to be. Did you ever wonder why DVD and Blu-Ray releases often fix little art or animation mistakes that were present during premieres? That's because the Japanese are super strict with when it comes to airing on time. So unfortunately, even some of the best team of artists and animators sometimes have to cut some corners just to make sure their product air on time. Luckily, things seem to be changing for the better since seasonal releases give production teams lengthy breaks to relieve some of the stress brought upon by the old weekly broadcast structure, but it's still by no means an easy job.

well of course making any animation show is rather expensive. with 2000-2200 bucks is the budget per episode.
