thank you so much! I agree about the details - I love that camera! They were holding so still that day, normally they are moving to quickly and are not that close. So I was lucky that day.
I also agree about the marking. I love freckled and spotted animals and those dogs are especially beautiful.

Dogs are more slim than Hyenas and Hyenas have very high shoulders. They just appear more heavier and more massive than Wild Dogs.

spike is right. The african wild dog is a very slim creature with long slim legs, a fur that is freckled and spotted with white, black and different brown colors.
Hyenas are mostly brown with either darker stripes or spots but not as huge spots as the dogs have.
The dogs have very large round ears, hyenas have smaller ears.
Hyenas have a very heavy head and body and their hind legs are shorter so their back is lowered towards their tail, while dogs have a straight line up to their tale. Their tail is also covered with longer hair and usually has a white tip.

Wilds dogs are prettier than hyenas.
