At first I had in mind Mr. Goofball at the very beginning but then I decided to go for something with clothing so I went for my OC Cedric. you can see him here in this picture.

I'm really happy with this! I have it right now sitting on my PC tower like an action figure!
I just regret I didn't make this sooner!!! X'D

CEDRIC!!!!!!!!!

This is awesome. So you did consider Mr. Goofball, eh? Well I am actually glad you did Cedric instead. He looks vicious! I'd like to have something like this in my room. So is he grumpy because he tried to shake James's hand again?

So is there a video?

LOL!

Thanks but I don't think that's what happened. His werewolf hands are just way too big for hand shaking. uh, probably patting James on the back, maybe? (no wait! I don't think that's a pretty good idea!)

I'm afraid I didn't make one, maybe next time I change my lamp for one that doesn't give me that awful yellow glow!

Whoa! That came out amazing! You're inspiring me to do some sculpting of my characters, too, now. Where did you get the base he's standing on?

Really?

Hey Master, it's been a long time! You should totally try it, have you ever sculpted something? You should try Supersculpey, it's that kind of clay that is just so delicious to work with that you can taste the awesomeness with your fingertips.

I have sculpted, just haven't really finished anything since uni. And yes Supersculpey is best Sculpey. lol

What was your process for this, btw? Did you start with an armature or anything?

God dammit! now I regret I didn't make that video so bad! -____-'

The process? I gotta be honest with you... this is my very first sculpture of this kind, all I did in high school was jars and pots of ceramic (and a few other things but not that important) but I guess it gave me some experience, no?
but it's not really complicated, I mean... how hard can it be? if you can draw you can sculpt, right?

Anyways, that wooden base I got it at some Swap Meet, I bought it to a guy that had that happened to have a lot of junk. It kinda look like it could have been from a water globe music box. it was old but I thought since it is just a practice project it was perfect!
Inside the statue like us, it has a skeleton. This one is made out of wire, build it (sort of like a stickman) and twist some more wire on it and rap it around. It must be strong enough to support itself and the weigh of the clay you're gonna add.
Next, add the clay! add muscle, give it form. I build the hands and head separately from the body since they required more detailing.

after baking paining is.... different I guess.
at first I wasn't gonna paint my Sculpture b'cuz I consider myself terrible at it, but I did and I'm amazed how awesome it turned out! it seems that you won't win it if you're not willing to risk it, eh? but that's just me!

Now I'm exited to see what you master can do with this clay!
show me some pics if you can, please!!!

Yes, I'm aware of the process overall. I was just curious if you used an armature, or "skeleton" as you call it, and if you sculpted it in sections or as one piece. Is he glued to the base or is he just standing on it? And I have sculpted before, I just don't have anything recent, but it is something I'd like to take time for after I'm done with these huge commission pieces that I'm slowly plodding along on. -_-

Anyway, can't wait to see you do more of these.

Oh, okay! ^^'
I actually build it on the base, the figure is not glued. I secured the "armature" by screwing it down to the base.

Okay... THIS IS SO COOL.  SO.  SO.  COOL.

Remember the poll "Would you be interested if I start making ceramic sculptures?"

Well... change my vote from "uh..." to "fuck yeah!"

ah, so you were among the ones who doubted me... eh!
JK! glad you liked it, this one was just for practice. Hopefully i'll be open for commissions like this soon!

Well, when you put it that way...  D:

But I'd love to have a Marcus.  And I can't be the only one out there who's always wanted an "action figure" of his or her characters.
