Description MWUAHAHAHA! It is COMPLETED!!

This is my contest entry for Brianne Dahlin's Contest that she is running Go check out her journal for details. XD The piece features her Anthro Fennic Fox character Lala, in her hybrid form. I used a Brett Booth sketch for some of the pose, but otherwise it's all me baby. ^_^;

I really like the way this came out. The BG, though simple, works really well with the overall picture I think. The way I did this one is actually pretty interesting. I sketched it on paper, imported the sketch to Photoshop, inked the lines, then flat colored the piece in Photoshop as well, seperating the layers (one for fur, one for hair, one for tattoos, etc). And then after I finished that, I uploaded the file into Corel Painter 9 and then shaded, using the Preserve Transparancy. XD It saved a TON of time, not having to fill everything in by hand. ^_^; *pats self on back*

My favorite part of the image - the little swath of stars at the top. XD *is amused by simple things*

*runs off to surprise Brianne, since she just posted in her journal a few hours ago about how she wouldn't have this done until next week XDXDXD *

OOh, I really liked this picture. You do good nathro. I loved the fur and the colors! Sunsets are great. I love her face, though.

But isn't drawing by hand what it's all about? (<-- doesn't know how people work on computers so much without getting headaches). I like the character design and I think the background works well, too. The "descent" into night is very pretty ^.^

Gah! This looks great, Lynnie! Loving the colors and the pose! The way you've rendered her is so impressive that it makes me want to do a piece of this character. If only time would allow. Oh well, at least I can admire your piece.

I really dig the way you did the furry- the kind of flyaway look to it. Very realistic and lovely. I am envious of you rock- I've tried to do them before and the best I can come up with are really odd looking shapes that most definitely don't look like rocks. XP Nice job, seriously. Good luck on the contest!

Lovely image, I like how you colored it. And I love how the sky turned out - and the character of course.

She looks great Lynnwood! I have to agree with you on the background - it's soft, subtle, and simple. It doesn't detract the attention from her, but instead compliments her so well The sunsety colors are beautiful and the textures you achieved on the rock and the sky are wonderful! They add such a cool contrast to her furry texture!

Her pose is graceful, yet strong and I find that her body is summed up in the same way - which is perfect for Lala You can tell she's built more for speed than strength but that her physique isn't lacking in muscle tone. I have to say that I'm probably most fond of her hands, which I think are nicely feral looking - human enough, but they have a strength to them as well and are a bit larger, so as to give them a sort of paw quality. I love her beautifully shiney metal bits and the furry texture you acheived, with all the stray furry bits! And you remembered all the details! Thank you so much, you really did a wonderful job with this! Thank you for entering!
