Description
Warhammer for girls again.I believe, before Heresy Emperor's Children, thanking to their gene-seed, were the most handsome among the Space Marines of the First Founding Legions. But in fact on official art they look just like all others -- not handsome at all. So this is how I imagine them

In the books they are described as beautiful before the Heresy, even the swordsman Lucius. It makes their fall all the more painful.
It's a shame that they normally use standard GW ugly art in the books.

I just red the Fulgrim's novel and i found it so sad for the Primarch. My favorite legion too. My favorite character is Julius Kaesoron and i like the Commander Eidolon.

They were always my favorite of the Legion's prior to the Heresy. I'm glad you felt the same way I did about them making them look just like all the other Marines. They were supposed to be the pretty ones dammit! >:0

Actually the Blood Angels are canonically stated to be angelically handsome.

Both the Blood Angels and Emperor's Children were pretty, but the Emperor's Children, specifically Fulgrim, were way more concerned with their appearance. The Blood Angels were handsome, but they and Sanguinius cared more about honor and protecting the Imperium.

Мне Кровавые Ангелы не очень близки, если мне хочется изобразить приттимарина, я рисую Ультрамарина или Детку Императора

Really nice rendition. That's exactly how I picture the pre-heresy Emperor's Children.
Fulgrim's geneseed DID make them handsome. Since most recruits receive the geneseed between 15 and 20 years of age, the seed has enough time to alter their appearance before they are fully grown space marines. It does not hurt that the Emperor's Children recruits were handpicked for their charisma, either.
The legion itself has an interesting story. The first Emperor's Children were tributes, given by the defeated warlords of Terra to the emperor as token of their loyalty. They were literally children, often the warlords' own offspring. The emperor trained and used them as bodyguards and ambassadors. That's why they became known as the Emperor's Children. And the purple they wear is the color of terran diplomats.

Насчет лиц прямым текстом не сказано, но косвенные свидетельства разбросаны повсюду. Кровавые Ангелы, например, все красивые, хотя рядовые баальцы скорее страшненькие. Дети Императора до Ереси в книгах описываются как красивые. Туда же регулярно поминаемые патрицианские черты Ультрамаринов. То есть, скорее всего спейсмарины были похожи на своих примархов как дети на родителей.
Причем, все это не соответствует оф. арту. И захочешь -- не найдешь смазливого Детку, или Ультрамарина с классическим античным профилем.
Это пурпурный. В английском purple имеет какое-то слишком широкое значение, и их рисуют чуть ли не синими. Впрочем, красными тоже рисуют. И розовыми. Когда как.
