Hah! I have to admit the reason I don't do every feather is because I'm extremely lazy. Just suggesting the layers is usually as far as I go. Your feathering makes me want to roll around in glee. X)

But that's the neat thing about art, or imagery in general... if you suggest in the right way people don't even realize things are 'missing'. I am not eloquent but in essence if you suggest, and it works, you are doing something right!
