Valentin appears extremely well mannered, cheerful, sincere and patient towards everyone. He holds an heir of wealth and power due to his occupations and family inheritance but does his best present himself in a grounded community-driven way. He goes out of his way to be seen as a friendly face to anyone he meets and will find time in his day to listen or help anyone with a problem even if he has never met that person before. Patients and Co-workers would describe him as sympathetic, driven and chatty and a person who does their utmost best to not judge a book by its cover and to see the good or promise in anyone. He is an avid academic and tends to overcommit or overwork himself till he is sure everything is going well or he finds the answer he is looking for. In the face of conflict, he has a stone-cold poker face and remains calm, collected and holds his ground using his authority as a weapon if necessary.
| HISTORY | Valentin was born to a wealthy family, his father and mother both working in the largest hospital in Issho and spent a lot of time away from home due to there long shifts, leaving him with a nanny from a young age. The family being local to the valley got permission to build an estate just off of Aurora Village which would become Valentin's property when they passed. His parents encouraged him to become studious from a young age and set him up with trainers and tutors alongside sending him off to a private school. He also took interest in battling and contests while in his school years but decided to indefinitely postpone his league challenge, in favour of completing his PHD in medicine. He then took a year out to travel the region and participate in contests before getting stuck in with working his way through anaesthetist training and getting stuck in with working at pokemon centres around Issho. He followed the natural and quick progression through the hierarchy of anaesthetist roles over the years eventually becoming the head consulting anaesthetist generally overseeing the others in his branch and working on more complex and sensitive administrations. He moved to part-time work around age 35 while working on a second degree in chemistry hoping to broaden his existing knowledge and use his skills to fill a potential gap in the market at the time, seeing how there was only one major chain of medicinal supplies aimed at pokemon, he knew he could tailor his skills to create something new, beneficial and competitive to set himself up. Taking after his father, business skills fell naturally to him and while still working part time he set up a small lab to start testing and creating new medicines, which rapidly grew into a small empire over the next few years, pushing the doctor further into the public eye. Using his charming personality and people-focused mantra he furthered his products reach with his charm and intention to do good, beginning to become somewhat of a local celebrity in the region setting up his bi-monthly tea parties and becoming a sponsor for various league events and charities. With the business booming he mostly only oversees the company as a CEO and has since left the science and pharmaceuticals to his workers, but is not afraid to don a coat and safety equipment to lend a hand or provide an tutorial. Life continued this way, working between the pokemon centres, his company and the very occasional guest appearance until he reached 50 when an incident happened at his birthday tea party, a trainer's pokemon was unknowingly infected by one of the first strains of the shadow virus and lashed out at the event. Valentin was quick to react and got his pokemon to secure the guests and knock out the feral beast but only after he selflessly threw himself in front of a young trainer as the pokemon went for the face. It was a media storm, people were quickly escorted off the premises and paramedics called to the scene as Valentin lay unconscious the beast paralyzed in a slumber next to him thanks to the strength of his team. Two members of his team received moderate, but not life-threatening injuries from the attack and Valentin himself received significant damage to left of his face and defensive wounds on his arms. His medical pokemon were quick to cordon off a area around his body and work on stabilising any bleeding.
A few days later a statement from the private hospital revealed the man's condition was stable, but Dr. Kirill had lost his left eye and skin grafts done to repair his cheek, and the Dr. would come forward with a statement after his recovery about what happened that day after his recovery period and the police had gotten a full write up of the event. Weeks later Valentin appeared on TV, his hair styled over his wound and bandages, The man assumed too vain and obsessed with his appearance to show visible scarring or sport a glass eye. He assured the viewers he would do everything in his power to stop pokemon like this and his company would move forward in researching a cure or preventative using the material gathered from the scene and he trusted the Pokémon League were already making moves to secure the state of the Island. He assured the public it was not an act of terrorism and that it was simply an accident and uncontrolled medical issue the pokemon had that caused it to react violently. At this time he was forced to keep quiet about the shadow virus under strict instruction of the League as they decided how to best handle the situation as it was not the first 'violent outburst' to have been reported.
