This is very good. I think you did well on her clothing. Like they are at a royal ball or something. The background suites this moment and I think you did really well with the color. Hope to see more from you some time.

Love her clothing, the lace is brilliant. Great Job!

It looks more like a peck than a kiss, your know when people just touch lips quickly. Annyyy how I love it.

Awesome details on the shirt. I can only imagine how long those butterfly designs took to draw.
What in the world? I had never heard of this character before, and suddenly I'm seeing him everywhere. Did you see this? [link] (second journal down). You might enjoy it.

haha. Well the clothes definitely a lasting good impression, so I think you succeeded.
I thought you might enjoy some of the other ones actually. There was a whole lot of Drizzt drawing going on.
You know, I haven't tried to read any of those books. I usually stick to satire. If there are any that are above and beyond, I'm always looking to branch out a bit though.

Yeah, there's alot more Drizzt fanart than I would've thought...I didn't think he was that well-known.
I'm rather embarrassed by this picture though. I basically just painted over the stock image...and I'm sorely disappointed with the end result. I think I should revisit this to try to do a better job and make it feel more "mine" (if that makes sense). Actually, maybe I'll work on that tonight...hm...you've inspired me! Thank you!

Yeah. I totally know what you mean. Sometimes I get in that mode too, where I start drawing more mechanically, without my style.
I've been called a lot of things, but never "inspirational". haha.

I haven't really developed a style, exactly...well, yet, anyway...but even so, I don't think this one really feels like me. (and holy punctuation-rape! I think I just horribly abused the comma and the period there! Eesh.)
And you're totally inspirational. I love how you can pick a subject, and mold it into your style without losing the recognizability of the original subject. Also, your original works combined with your sense of humor make me wish I could draw comics and original characters.
Jack (Jane?) of some trades, master of none.

haha. Well now you're making me bashful, and I don't know what to say.
Argh, you have no idea how true to my life that Jack of some trades comment is to my life. At the station where I work (Forest Service) I have honestly worked in every department except for management.

oops, I'm just realizing your emphasis on the word 'Jack'...I wasn't calling your gender into question, just trying to make the saying applicable for me as well...

hehe I meant it more artistically-speaking, but I'm in the same boat at my work. I've held the most positions of anyone working there...and I've only been there not even 4 years. I'm not bragging, because all it means is that everyone can dump their stuff on me 'cause "Mandy knows how to do it!" *grumbles*

Oh yeah. I knew you how you meant it. I just thought that it was also funny that it applied in general.
On the bright side, it has also led to overtime opportunities though!

Amen to that. That's why I don't fight forest fires. I value my weekends way too much.

But firefighters get all the chicks and get to pose in calendars! You could be some 40 year old housewife's favorite month! Maybe that's just city firefighters, though...they seem to get all the glory.

haha. Yeah. That's definitely not forest fire fighters. Believe me, nobody is going to be contacting the Forest Service for calender models.
Maybe I could get a month in the "Wimps of the World" calender though.

They'd call it something more appealing though, like "Great Personalities!"
And why do I think of big gay bears when I see the words "Forest Service calendar models"? Weird.

Holy crap!! That would be hilarious! A "Great Personalities Swimwear Calendar". Twelve pictures of really ugly people in bikinis, shorts, speedos, etc. They could even be doing stuff like feeding the poor, and helping old women across the street.

Hahaha A scrawny, pasty nerd in a speedo feeding the homeless posing like Capt. Morgan...an overweight dude with hairy shoulders getting a cat out of a tree, giving the Zoolander pout...a fat chick with crooked teeth doing a canned food drive in a bikini...
...ok, pouty hairy fat guy just made me crack up and get a weird look from a coworker...haha

I'm really thinking this is something that has to be illustrated! If you don't mind? I might give it out to people as a new years gift.
