I'm referring to later when he meets Rin. She was trying to take care of him, even though she was beaten bloody for the fish she tried to catch. She was the first human that melted the ice of his heart.

Interesting you should mention cruelty and beauty intertwined- it's the charm of the fair folk which, by any definition, Sesshomaru has. That dissonance between unearthly, superhuman beauty and complete apathy toward norman human morals, which a magical being like himself would consider beneath him.
Here, in this picture, I do see cruelty in his face, but it's subtle; I wouldn't have seen it unless you'd said it was what you were going for.
