I have to disagree with you on the latter, I think it works perfectly with the intended nature of the character! Angular, off-balance, lunging, diagonal--these are all traits that fit with the archetype of the savage "berserker" warrior. You know, I almost think you could have taken it further--I could easily see him leaping through the air, knees bent, both feet off the ground, perhaps with the scimitar brandished in a two-handed grip overhead. Hm, though then you'd lose that awesome foreshortening on the blade, and the drama of having it thrust towards the viewer...I guess it's always a tradeoff.

I think I should have simply refined the pose a bit more. Really worked out the torque and foreshortening of the torso, the angles of the limbs, etc. As it is, admittedly, I basically just worked it into a "good enough" pose and then rendered.

It is a bit spastic but it kinda fits in with the feral-ness of the character. I like the details of the armor, especially the breastplate.

Thanks! I got most of the armor details from a book I have on ancient arms and armor. Those random reference book buys at used books stores come in handy!
