When I saw the thumb I thought "One happy fractal"
In full size it looked like it could be astounded as well

He was kind of simple compared to most that I have done, but the opportunity was there.... Thanks!

Yeah, don't know much about fractals myself. A couple of hours with Apo and it's random fractals is all the fractal experience I have Didn't have a clue what I was doing, so I played a bit with the ones that looked interesting and made some abstracts with them

Wow, I feel like such a rookie, how many layers did that take? What is Idimon? Very cool.

The eye took 6, and it is the same used in lots of others... Kind of a stock fractal of mine... Two were added to block the backround from the inside of the eye and the backround is just a simple Mandelbrot using turbulence mapping and a little searching.... Idimon is just a name made up out of "id monster", just like Mindam was made from "mind damage".... Goofy, huh????

Just wait till you get a load of "Enchantress II" and put it in your UF to analyze..... I will post it in a few days and let you know....

Mark I do not know how to manipulate a picture within UF other than image in the mapping and I can't do much other than use it as a background.???

Well, my man, guess I'm going to have to get you started on merge modes and multiple layers and how they interact.... I've done a lot of experimenting and am willing to share with you whatever you nedd to know.....

First question, Does a frac picture have to be rendered to work with it? I know you worked with one of mine and you could not have rendered it. But you did it within another program.

M2e-Fx In reply to Joe-Maccer [2009-12-16 13:43:26 +0000 UTC]

In UF you don't have to render pictures, just go to file and save image as... I do recommend that you save the fractal (save as) so that you can come back and modify it at any time, then save the image under the same name. You don't have to use the save parameters selection unless you are doing animations.... When working with layers, the bottom layer is always in "normal" merge mode.. All the layers above it can be modified as to how they interact with those below by selecting the down arrow in the fractal properties box in the layers tab... The thing I do with the 3d mapping has nothing to do with parameters and is made using Incendia.... Just a photo trick!

I got that, thanks. what I am trying to find out, if I have an image other than a fractal, can I manipulate that with a fractal?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

M2e-Fx In reply to Joe-Maccer [2009-12-17 15:59:58 +0000 UTC]

There are ways in UF to do so, but the difficulty is mind boggling.... It is much easier to do with a photo editor or paint program.... Except with Incendia, but it has it's limitations and you can't retain the colors.... That's why I overlay the colors back on the renders for the effect!
